Two infamous Oklahoma sisters have been sentenced to prison for conspiring to steal thousands of dollars worth of stamps.

Birdie Jo and Becky Jo Hoaks, 47-year-old twins, carried out the hoax. Earlier this week a judge sentenced Birdie Jo to 60 months in prison and Becky Jo to 48 months in prison

Back in May the twins were officially charged with one count of conspiracy and once count each of theft of government property.

According to court documents, the two spent a little more than a year opening personal checking accounts at several banks making small deposits from $5 to $200. From there the duo wrote dozens of bad checks at U.S. Post Offices in Oklahoma in exchange for thousands of stamps.

Both sisters plead guilty to crimes related to this scam in June and each agreed to pay more than $60,000 in restitution.
