An Oklahoma police officer on the mend Friday morning after being shot in Clinton.
The alleged gunman is behind bars, but police are still searching for a witness.
Despite being shot twice -- once in each arm -- Capt. Mike Murley is hospitalized in good condition.
Fellow officers are now laser focused on finding a person that they believe witnessed his shooting.
Police think someone was watching when this chaotic scene unfolded.
Police said veteran officer Murley was ambushed when confronted by 41-year-old Alfonso Proa-Rios.
Murley had been in his patrol car, searching for the convicted felon with plans to arrest him.
But the routine day took an unexpected turn when police said Rios approached the officer's car and opened fire in the middle of the street.
OSBI has not said if the witness has been identified, or released a description.
