Suspect Dies Of Gun Shot After Police Altercation In SE OKC

Oklahoma City Police are investigating after a person was shot and killed during an altercation with an officer on SE 59th near Sooner late Sunday.

Police were called on a welfare check to a person lying on the side of SE 59th St. When police arrived, they say the suspect was uncooperative. A scuffle ensued with the suspect knocking pepper spray out of the hands of the officer and punching her. Then, the suspect tried to use the officer's Taser on the officer.

Then, police say, the officer pulled her firearm and shot the suspect, who died. The suspect has not yet been identified.

The unidentified officer was taken to the hospital for minor injuries to her hands and face.

Police say the street will be blocked off for several hours while they investigate.
