Pecan Toffee Crack
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups brown sugar
- 2 Cups unsalted butter
- 1/2 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Sleeves saltine crackers
- 1 Package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Cups pecans, chopped
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place saltines in rows till the bottom of the pan is covered.
- In a sauce pan melt the butter with the brown sugar.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and allow it to boil for 6 minutes or until it reaches 285 degrees.
- Stir in the salt and vanilla.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers.
- Place the toffee in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and then sprinkle the chocolate chips on top.
- Allow that to sit for 5 minutes and then spread the melted chocolate over the top.
- Sprinkle with pecans.
- Allow the mixture to cool and then place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Break into pieces to serve!
***To make Smore Toffee: Line the baking sheet with graham crackers. Instead of sprinkling the toffee with nuts, sprinkle with mini marshmallows & bake.
