9 Days Of Christmas: Meals On Wheels

The Meals on Wheels program is dedicated to making sure no senior citizens are left behind, hungry and alone.

News 9 wanted to give back this holiday season, so as part of our '9 Days of Christmas,' we helped deliver some hot meals and holiday cheer.

Meals on Wheels is a Monday-through-Friday noon-time meal delivery service that requires a minimum of 100 volunteers each week to deliver meals to approximately 300 people every day in Norman.

"Today, you're going to be delivering the regular hot meal plus a special Christmas gift for them. Make sure every one of our clients gets a poinsettia. I know they're going to be excited to see you," said Lynn Haynes, the executive director for Meals on Wheels Norman.

If Meals on Wheels wasn't available, many of these people wouldn't be having nutritious meals.
