Police responded to a deadly shooting in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, Tuesday afternoon.

Just before noon, investigators were called out to reports of a shooting at ZR Food Mart, located near NW 10th Street and N. Blackwelder Avenue.

Aldin Lewis originally heard three gun shots as he was working up the street at 10th and Blackwelder.

“As soon as I heard the shots I saw some guy running across the street into that field and he turned around and fired three more shots at the store,” said Lewis.

Alden says he ran to the store and everyone inside was okay but they told him another man outside had been shot.

“I ran outside to check his pulse and see if he was breathing, but he had already passed away at that point.”

Police say the man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Aiden says the shooter was a black male wearing a black coat but he couldn't see more than that. Police say they don't have a good description either.

If you have any information call the homicide tip line at 297-1200.  Police have not released a name of the victim

Authorities have shut down Blackwelder, from NW 10th Street to NW 9th Street, while detectives work the scene.
