Two armed thieves recently broke into a car dealership near SW 29th and Western Avenue not once, but four times in only a matter of hours.
The business owner is now offering a $1,500 reward to help catch the burglars.
“It is the first time we’ve gone through something this drastic,” said Jesus Soto, business owner.
The break-in was all caught on security cameras.
“Picked the lock,” said Soto. “Ran inside and grabbed all my keys.”
One man is seen carrying a gun and Soto said the other had a knife.
They seem to know exactly what they are doing.
“I think they were pretty organized,” said Soto. “Real cautious and sneaky about it.”
The burglars left and came back a second time.
“One of them worked their way to opening the gate,” said Soto. “They took off with a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu.”
He said they also stole a pickup, which has since been recovered.
The third time the men came back, they ransacked the office and left with two safes containing a number of valuables.
“They took off with our dealer plate,” said Soto. “Inside the safe was just paperwork. I had a necklace and an engagement ring.”
During the fourth trip, Soto said the brazen thieves took off with a 2014 red Volkswagen Beetle.
He said in in all, he is out more than $25,000 in vehicles and valuables, some of it irreplaceable.
That is why he's offering the reward.
“Anything to catch these people,” said Soto. “Because they might do it to someone else and if I can help prevent that, it would be a great deal.”
Soto found the stolen pickup truck on Monday. It was found abandoned only a couple of blocks from the business.
