AP Releases Preseason Poll For 2018 Season

The Associated Press released its Top 25 preseason poll for the 2018 season Monday morning.

Oklahoma secured the No. 7 spot in the first poll for the 2018 season. Oklahoma State University did not place. 

Last year's National Championship Alabama secured the No. 1 spot.

Others receiving votes: South Carolina 96, Florida 68, Utah 60, Oklahoma St. 51, FAU 38, Arizona 28, NC State 22, Texas A&M 21, Boston College 18, Northwestern 13, Kansas St. 10, Iowa St. 8, Houston 6, Memphis 3, Troy 2, Iowa 2, Kentucky 1, Arkansas St. 1, Fresno St. 1.

Last year, Alabama secured the No. 1 spot in the final Top 25 poll for the 2017 season.

A Baker Mayfield-led Oklahoma ended its season at No. 3 after losing to Georgia during the first round of the National Championship playoff.

A three-loss Oklahoma State ended its season with a No. 14 place finish in the poll. 

The AP began releasing polls for college football in 1934.
