The driver T-boned by the suspect in a stolen pick-up Tuesday is now recovering from injuries.
Justin Briggs was turning on to Martin Luther King Avenue from I-44 Tuesday evening when his suburban was struck by a stolen F-150 pickup.
“I didn’t see anything, I look and impact,” Briggs said.
Briggs suffered cuts and bruises and is still feeling pain in his back.
The suburban is totaled, and Briggs believes he would have been injured worse if it wasn’t for the size of his vehicle.
“Anybody else in the car, if they were on the passenger side, they would have been crushed,” said Briggs who is thankful he was alone at the time of the crash.
He says the last two days has given him time to think about how it could have ended up differently if police pursued more aggressively.
“Potentially that could have been avoided if they were allowed to take more offensive action and put the guy into a curb,” Briggs said.
Police arrested everyone in the pick-up after the crash.
