Oklahoma voters are two months away from voting for a new governor and other state officers.

In our exclusive News 9 poll, we asked voters what they thought about the state questions and all the statewide races.

In a three-person race for state superintendent, incumbent, Republican Joy Hofmeister, who scored a 14-point runoff election win to make it onto the November ballot, will face Democrat John Cox, who was also Hofmeister's Democratic opponent four years ago, and Independent Larry Huff.

Here you can see how 400 likely voters would cast their ballots, if the election were today; 51 percent for Hofmeister, 31 percent for Cox, 9 percent for Huff, and 9 percent undecided.

Our pollster Bill Shapard said this is pretty remarkable for Hofmeister, considering her first term didn't exactly go smoothly where she was charged at one point for campaign violations -- the charges were later dropped -- and dealing with a record teacher shortage and general discontent over education funding.

Shapard said the key for her was that a teacher pay raise finally got done.

"As our polling has shown over the last year, Republicans favor a teacher pay raise, they actually favor tax increases to pay for that teacher pay raise, she's been on the right side of that issue during that time," said Bill Shapard of SoonerPoll.com.

Shapard said, despite the 20-point lead right now, this race is likely to tighten up some, in part because the Democrat, John Cox, could benefit from up-ticket races, namely the governor's race.
