The FBI and Bureau of Indian Affairs continue to investigate a double stabbing in Carnegie.
The crime was reported Wednesday morning, after one man was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Carnegie city limits.
The details are still limited, but the FBI provided a briefing Wednesday evening.
“The Bureau of Indian Affairs contacted the FBI and let us know of a situation in Carnegie with two individuals. One was a deceased male, with multiple stab wounds. The other was a female, taken to the hospital for treatment with similar stab wounds, found in an abandoned residence,” FBI Spokeswoman Andrea Anderson said.
Neighbors say the man and woman who were stabbed were squatting at the abandoned home where the stabbing took place.
The lot has been abandoned for a few years and there is a lot of foot traffic surrounding the property, neighbors said.
Those living nearby have witnessed multiple fights at the home.
“They'll fight and then the next person will jump in. They'll fight and then they're shaking hands. It's okay it's just very crazy sometimes,” neighbor Christy Gutierrez said.
Both individuals with stab wounds are considered to be victims, the FBI confirmed.
No suspects are in custody at this time.
The FBI has not released the victims’ identities.
However, the male victim was known to many around the block.
“I mean I had no problems with him. Like I said, he'd come to my house and we would sit and visit, or if I had leftover food I'd give it to him. He's just that kind of person. He wound up being a drunk but he was a friendly drunk,” Hazel Toppah said.
The condition of the female victim is unknown, she remains hospitalized.
