Baker Mayfield's Popularity Reaches New Heights

Baker Mayfield’s ascension to starting Quarterback for the Cleveland Browns comes as a surprise to very few who know him. 

Fan Outfitters across from Quail Springs Mall says they began selling Mayfield’s number six Browns’ jersey two months ago, and it’s the most-popular item in the store. 

News 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins says Mayfield has proven himself on every level he’s ever played.

“There’s just something magical,” Blevins said. “I know there’s Sooner Magic, but maybe it will transcend to the NFL.” 

Sooner Legends Inn and Suites Owner Doug Kennon says Mayfield will continue to prove his doubters wrong.

“He’s always had that mad swag.  It’s just if he’s on your team, everybody loves him, if he’s not on your team, he’s the guy you love to hate,” Kennon said.
