Authorities have identified a man killed Monday in a Choctaw County accident.

According to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Dakota Hoff, 23, of Boswell was driving northbound on US 271, preparing to make a left turn. Meanwhile, Dometric Hickson, 30, of Hugo was driving southbound on US 271 and struck Hoff's vehicle, troopers said.

Hoff was taken to a Texas hospital with head injuries and was treated and released, officers said. Hickson was not injured, according to the report.

Hoff had two passengers in his car, Joshuwa Jaynes, 25, of Durant and Jarrod Harvey, 23, of Boswell, troopers said. Jaynes was taken to a hospital with head injuries and was treated and released, authorities said.

According to the OHP report, Harvey was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries and was taken to the Tulsa Medical Examiner’s office. Troopers said Hoff, Harvey, and Jaynes weren't wearing their seatbelts.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but according to the OHP report, Hoff had an odor of alcohol.
