Two young Florida girls brought various knives to their middle school Tuesday with the intent to kill up to 25 classmates, cut up their victims and drink their blood, reports say.
The girls, ages 11 and 12, then planned to commit suicide to ensure they would “go to hell,” The Ledger reports.
Police say the girls intended to carry out their plan in a school restroom, WFTV Channel 9 reports. School staff found them in the restroom because they were not in class.
The girls were taken to the school office and it was revealed they had several knives, including a butcher’s knife, WFTV reports.
WFTV reports the girls told detectives they were Satanists.
School officials were tipped off to the plot by another student, who said one of the girls told the student not to go to school that day, reports say.
“This is horrific, and if I had children in school I’d be scared to death,” Bartow Police Chief Joe Hall says, according to the Ledger. “They wanted to kill at least 15 people ... I believe both of these girls went into the bathroom to carry out their plan.”
Both girls face multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and possession of a weapon on school property.
