The OU offense sets a new record every week, Kyler Murray is contending for the Heisman trophy, yet all the talk Monday is about the defense. But rightfully so after the Sooners allowed Taylor Cornelius to throw for OSU Bedlam record 501 yards here on Saturday.
When Lincoln Riley was asked about the state of his defense, he made it clear what he values most.
“We're not happy with how we played last Saturday by any stretch, we've got to play better,” Riley said. “But we are playing really good in some big moments. We see the makings of being what we want to be. By Big 12 standards we're winning a bunch of games, so I know that, so, you can put all those stats whichever way you want, but go look up the Big 12 records in the last four years of teams and tell me which one you would rather be."
The weather is reminiscent of the West Virginia game in Morgantown two years ago.
That game isn't until next week.
Kansas is up next Saturday at 6:30 on senior day in Norman.
