OKC firefighters responded to a late night fire at a vacant apartment structure in northwest Oklahoma City.
Crews arrived at the scene near northwest 23rd and Portland Avenue around 11:40 p.m. Thursday.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found smoke and fire coming from the second floor. Crews entered the building and noted a temperature of 340 degrees as they approached the fire.
Crews brought the blaze under control before the fire spread to other areas.
Although the building was vacant, firefighters still conducted a thorough search to ensure that nobody was inside.
There were no utilities to the structure. Crews said an unattended heat source was suspected.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
