An Edmond family is without a home after a New Year’s Eve blaze killed two dogs.

It was around 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve when Edmond firefighters responded to the home on the 3400 block of Meadow Lane. The garage was fully engulfed.

Neighbors nearby shot video as first responders arrived on scene. A neighbor living nearby called 911 after that. All they could do was watch.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and nobody was hurt. However, two dogs were killed.

“It was a little alarming. I’ve never seen anything like that before. I have lived in California for a long time so I have seen wildfires beforehand that but I’ve never seen a house that close to me on fire,” said witness Mary Anne Gonzalez.

Neighbors said a mother and adult son lived in the home. The home is heavily damaged and is likely a total loss.
