The Craven County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina is investigating a deadly fire in the Jasper community as a possible arson and homicide, and it has arrested the 17-year-old grandson of the woman who died.
Deputies said fire crews responded to the Jasper community Monday in reference to a structure fire.
Marjorie Thompson, who lived in the home, died in the fire and a 2016 Toyota Camry was missing from the residence, deputies said.
Investigators issued a warrant on James C. Gizzi, 17, for felony larceny of a motor vehicle.
Deputies said James had driven to his brother's house in Mississippi, where the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office arrested him.
Gizzi was arrested while pulling up to the home with his brother in the stolen 2016 Toyota Camry, according to the Craven County Sheriff's Office.
James is being held on no bond.
His brother, John Gizzi, 19, is charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The investigation is continuing into possible arson and homicide charges.
