A Yukon substitute teacher was arrested Monday in El Reno, police said.
Jeffrey Smith was arrested on a complaint of lewd acts/proposal with a child under 16 using technology.
Police notified Yukon Public Schools of the arrest because Smith substitute taught at several schools in Yukon.
The district released a statement Tuesday morning and said Smith passed all background checks and was cleared prior to any employment opportunities at the district.
"At this time, we have no reason to believe that there were any inappropriate actions with any of our students but we will continue to work with the detectives as they gather more information," the school district's statement said.
Police said Smith was arrested in connection with an undercover operation where Smith thought the detective was a teenage girl.
Smith was booked into the Canadian County jail.
