After several hours, firefighters successfully extricated a driver from the cab of a tractor-trailer Friday morning in rural southwest Oklahoma City.
The driver, who is in critical condition, was taken to a local hospital via medical helicopter. The crash was reported near S Cimarron Road and SW 59th Street, and it appeared to be a single-vehicle crash.
Police said the driver was trying to brake for a dog running across the street which caused the crash. The driver was trapped in the cab after a metal beam crashed through the cab.
Firefighters were able to get the driver out of the cab after several hours of working around a metal beam.
