A mother and son have been arrested for a homicide in Del City.
According to investigators, the crime stems from a disagreement between the two families after their little brothers got into a fight.
Police said victim, Michael Young went to Tevarus Young's home in Del City Tuesday, September 3 to try to bring any argument or misunderstanding to a peaceful end.
Despite having the same last name, the two are not related, according to investigators.
According to documents, Felicia Goode- Blassengill, Tevarus' mother, told him to "light them mother f****** up.”
That's when Tevarus allegedly shot at Michael's car, hitting the victim and his sister.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male victim identified as Michael Jerome Young seated in his truck. He was deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds,” Del City Police Captain Bradley Rule said.
When officers arrived at the scene, the two suspects were gone.
Del City police called on the U.S. Marshal Service for help.
Goode-Blassengill was arrested in Del City and Tevarus was found by Edmond Police early Thursday, September 5.
“Both arrests were made without incident,” Rule said.
Michael’s sister has since been released from the hospital, according to police, and is recovering physically and emotionally.
“For someone who is trying to avoid violence to be killed as the result of a violent crime, there are no other words, it's heartbreaking,” Rule said.
