Police Detain 1 Person After Bizarre Traffic Stop In NE OKC

One person has been detained after a bizarre traffic stop Monday in northeast Oklahoma City.

The incident was reported near NE 23rd Street and Martin Luther King Avenue and officers shut down the intersection for the duration of the incident.

At least 13 police cars surrounded a pickup with a suspect inside.

Police said the incident started as a traffic stop where the driver claimed to be sovereign and refused to cooperate with police.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 flew over the scene and pilot Jim Gardner said he saw the driver throw pieces of paper outside his window.
