Stillwater Teen Charged With Murder, Accused Of Fatally Shooting Caretaker's Boyfriend

The 17-year-old accused of killing his caretaker's boyfriend was charged with first-degree murder, Stillwater police reported.

Coryon Maryell Leray Thomas, 17, is accused of fatally shooting 26-year-old Mandrale Alexander Henry.

On Sunday, November 10 police received a call from a woman in the 4100 block of Westbrook Drive who reported her boyfriend had been shot in the torso. She also said the gunman was her stepson, Thomas.

The woman frantically begged for an ambulance and performed CPR on the victim, Henry.

Here’s an excerpt from that 911 call:

Dispatch: “1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4.”

Dispatch: “Okay, I need to know where the person with the weapon is.”

Woman: “He’s in the living room.”

Dispatch: “Can you tell him to put the gun down?”

Police said Thomas was living at the residence of his father's ex-girlfriend with her four children. The four children were in the residence when the shooting occurred. 

The woman repeatedly told dispatchers her boyfriend wasn't breathing. 

“He was transported to the hospital where he did die at the hospital,” said Captain Kyle Gibbs of the Stillwater Police Department.

Right now, investigators are still piecing together the shooting. Along with the motive, officers are asking if drugs or alcohol played a part in the alleged murder.

Thomas was arrested and booked with Stillwater PD, and then transferred to a juvenile facility.

“He was still at the scene. He was taken into custody by the responding officers, and the shotgun he used was located there at the scene,” said Capt. Gibbs.

News 9 reached out to family, but has not heard back as of Wednesday, November 13.

Thomas does not have a court date yet. He is expected to be transferred back to Payne County for that court date either Thursday, November 14 or next week.
