Main Street in Norman is still closed after a bridge was washed out a few weeks ago.
Work to replace the bridge has already begun. The good news, the funds and contractor for replacing the bridge were already in place before the bridge washed out.
Ultimately the city decided they would expedite this process.
They estimate the road will be closed between two to three months.
But they came up with this solution after talking with everyone from school principals to parents ans bus drivers.
They wanted to make sure this didn't impact students or residents in a negative way.
The city tells News 9 this week they have had extra members of their traffic division and officers in the area.
This is to make sure residents aren't having issues with any detour routes. Officials tell News 9 "so far so good."
