Mama’s Homemade Sausage Cream Gravy

8 ounces sausage, hot or mild

1/4 cup all purpose flour

2 cups milk (more if needed to thin gravy)

Salt and pepper

All purpose seasoning (Mrs. Dash or Trader Joe’s All-Purpose Seasoning)

***Frozen Biscuits, cooked according to package

In a sauté pan, brown the sausage making sure to break it up into small bits using a wooden spoon. Once the sausage is cooked, leave any drippings in the pan and turn the heat up to medium high. Sprinkle the sausage with flour. Stir using a heat-resistant spatula to coat the sausage and continue to cook in pan for about 60 seconds. Slowly pour in the milk while stirring. Continue to stir until the gravy begins to thicken. This should happen as soon as it begins to bubble around the edges. Add a 1/2 cup of milk as needed to thin to your desired consistency. Add salt, pepper, and seasoning to taste. Serve on hot biscuits or with your favorite country dinner!
