As expected Oklahoma City voted through its emergency relief plan for small businesses Tuesday.

Other municipalities are following suit to help struggling businesses.

On Tuesday Edmond passed a microgrant program for it struggling businesses

In Oklahoma City, the plan includes $5.5 million in low and no interest loans and other incentives to companies that keep their full-time employees.

“Their economic loss is saving lives,” said Mayor David Holt Tuesday after the unanimous vote.

The city admits $5.5 million is not enough money to help everyone who needs it.

More funding could eventually be made available.
