Emergency crews responded to a grounded plane at Tulsa International Airport to investigate the possibility of passenger exposure to coronavirus (COVID-19) after an attendant believed a person aboard to be symptomatic.

"Right now, with COVID-19, everything is just so fluid and changing," said Andy Little with Tulsa Fire. "It's important to take precautions in all situations. I think everybody that responded did a great job in ensuring people are safe."

TFD said a hazmat team was called to the scene and the plane was kept from approaching the terminal. Officials said the attendant was concerned that a passenger on board appeared to be sick. The plane landed with 14 people total, officials said.

Shortly after investigating, crews said the man was feeling fine and not experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

The plane was also scheduled to return to LA.

American Airlines said that all passengers are considered asymptomatic for COVID-19.
