5 OKC, Norman Hospitals Postpone Elective, Non-Urgent Surgeries During Coronavirus Outbreak
Five hospital systems in Oklahoma City and Norman have decided to postpone elective, non-urgent surgeries during coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the state.
The hospitals include:
- Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City,
- Norman Regional Health System,
- OU Medicine (OU Medical Center, OU Medical Center Edmond and The Children's Hospital at OU Medicine) and
- SSM Health St. Anthony.
Elective and non-urgent surgeries and procedures are classified as those that can be rescheduled to a future time and will not significantly impact the patient's health.
The hospitals said they will begin contacting patients as their cases become eligible for potential postponement.
