A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he was accused of starting at least two fires in southwest Oklahoma City.
Dominic Kelly, 16, was arrested Wednesday on two complaints of arson, the Oklahoma City Fire Department reported.
Fire investigators linked the teen to two fires at an apartment complex in the 8800 block of S Drexel Avenue near May Avenue and SW 89th Street.
Firefighters were called to a fire about 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. The fire was set in a storage closet and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called to the same apartment complex about 12:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Firefighters found heavy fire conditions from the two-story apartment complex.
Two people were trapped on a breezeway and could not escape due to flames being on both sides. They went back inside the apartment and firefighters were able to rescue them from a window. The two victims were not injured.
One firefighter was taken to a hospital for evaluation after a ceiling collapsed on him causing head and neck pain. The building, valued at $500,000, was considered a total loss.
