Oklahoma City, OK - At least 16 apartments were heavily damaged in a large apartment fire in Oklahoma City near the airport at Southwest 89th and Drexel.

Firefighters say when they arrived just after midnight the apartments were heavily engulfed. Two firefighters sustained minor injuries but no residents were injured.

“They had a report en route that there was a calling party that was trapped inside the breezeway that couldn’t make it out. Our first crew on the scene pulled two people from the apartments,” said OKCFD Battalion Chief Mike Kelley.

Crews on scene say at least one building partially collapsed. This is an ongoing investigation.
