Shop for A Cause This Holiday Season
This holiday season help brighten the season for some very special kids by donating to The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital’s 13th annual Holiday Helpers Drive. Unlike your usual coat drives, canned food collections and even some toy drives, the Holiday Helpers campaign is looking for diapers!
Every year the hospital goes through more than 350,000 diapers and with new addition of 40 beds, the hospital needs more than 6,500 diapers to add onto their yearly estimate. So, this year the Holiday Helpers campaign has set a goal of collecting 100,000 diapers.
In the past years individuals and groups have graciously donated to the hospital and this year you can download a basic needs list online. Other basic need items are Dr. Brown’s bottles, portable DVD players, cotton clothing, art canvases, AA batteries and more.
Toys are also important for children during the holiday season and are encouraged for purchase. The Children’s Center has a Target baby registry and the list includes toys, books, shoes, therapeutic items and general supplies requested by departments throughout the hospital.
The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is thankful for all who have donated and supported the children throughout the years.
“We are blessed beyond words to have a community who cares so much about the patients,” said Albert Gray, chief executive officer of The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital. “The outpouring of support we receive year after year is a blessing, and it is truly a special time for our patients.”
If you would like to donate this year, the items can be dropped off daily between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital’s main lobby inside the Donald W. Reynolds Complex between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital is located on N.W. 39th Expressway just east of Rockwell.
The basic needs list can be located by visiting the hospital’s website, here. You can also call the hospital at (405) 789-6711 option 4.
