OKLAHOMA CITY - Police said an elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday in Northwest Oklahoma City. 

According to Oklahoma City police, the accident occurred at Northwest 23rd and Portland Avenue around 6 p.m. Witnesses told police that the woman was trying to cross the street. 

Police at the scene said darkness played a role in the crash and the woman reportedly failed to see two vehicles, and was hit. 

At this time, the victim's name has not been released.
