A man was found shot in the head at a Ponca City home Wednesday night, the police reported.

Suspect Arrested, Accused Of Shooting Ponca City Man In The Head

The Stillwater Police Department says its tactical used tear gas to flush out a shooting suspect Thursday.

Stillwater PD says it was contacted by Ponca City police to assist with locating and arresting 26-year-old Harvey Duane Adkins III.

According to Ponca City police, Adkins was wanted for allegedly shooting Van Chatfield III in the head Wednesday night.

First responders rushed Chatfield to a hospital in Wichita, Kansas. There’s no word yet on his condition.

Detectives learned Adkins III was hiding out with relatives in Stillwater.

The Stillwater tactical team was called to an apartment in the 700 block of West Crested Butte to take Adkins into custody. When Adkins refused to come out, tear gas was used. Then, he surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Adkins also had an outstanding warrant through Kay County for assault with a deadly weapon.
