Cyclist In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Police Cruiser
OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City Police said a cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by a police car late Wednesday.
Police said that around 10:30 p.m. the man was riding his bike in the outside lane of West Hefner Road near North MacArthur Boulevard.
The victim, who police identified as 47-year-old Max Krause, was taken to OU Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.
Police have not said how the cruiser hit the cyclist or what the officer was doing when it happened.
Officers said the cruiser was damaged during the accident and was towed away.
The scene has been cleared and the lanes are back open.
The officer involved in the crash was identified as officer Garry Price, a two-year veteran of the department. Price has been placed on administrative leave.
