OCPD: Toddler Injured In Accidental Shooting
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Police Department says a 3-year-old was transported to a local hospital after an accidental shooting Thursday.
According to police, emergency crews were called to the shooting in the 600 block of Cactus Court. The 3-year-old was found suffering from a non-life threatening wound and was transported from the scene.
Police said the 3-year-old picked up his mother's gun. When his 9-year-old brother tried to take it away, the gun went off.
The 3-year-old was taken to Presbyterian Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and is recovering, according to OKCPD officials.
DHS was notified and responded to the scene.
