OKLAHOMA CITY - Four people have died in a downtown Oklahoma City crash Friday morning, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.  

Troopers responded to the the accident involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 40 eastbound and Oklahoma City Boulevard. 

Officials said a 2009 Chevy Silverado, driven by 42-year-old Nina Carpitcher, was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-40 when it crashed head-on into a 2005 Hyundai Sonata driven by 36-year-old Faith Mahan going eastbound.

The driver of the pickup truck and a male passenger, identified as 48-year-old Raymond Butler, and the driver of the car and a female passenger, identified as Mackayla Mahan, were all pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The occupants of both vehicles were pinned for approximately three hours, being freed by the OKC Fire Department using the Jaws of Life. 

I-40 was closed from 2:10 a.m. to 5:14 a.m.
