Chaz Davis has sold magazines for Curbside Chronicle for more than three years.

When the owner of Bleu Garten allowed Davis to sell inside the business, he found a new friendship.

Gannon Mendez runs Saucee Sicilian with his family and parks his food truck in Bleu Garten two days a week.

Mendez and his family were immediately drawn to Davis and his spirit. That’s why when Davis decided he wanted to raise money for a van, to provide rides for the homeless and his friends, Mendez jumped at the opportunity.

What started out as one Saturday giving 10% of the truck's earnings, became everyday at Bleu Garten. Now when the food truck stops at the local park, Mendez gives Davis a portion of their earnings.

This is continuing despite a recent gift from a donor. That person wants to remain anonymous, but has told Davis he would gift him a used van.

Now, Mendez and Davis are still raising funds but the money will be used to fix up the gifted van.

If you want to give back or have some pizza, you can find the Saucee Sicilian at Bleu Garten every Wednesday and Saturday.
