My 2 Cents: Effect Of Kavanaugh Investigation On Future Candidates
OKLAHOMA CITY - After watching what happened to once-esteemed Washington D.C. Federal Judge Brett Kavanaugh, would you, could you run for public office?
Occasionally, someone will comment that I should run for public officer. I can't even imagine it after what has been done to Kavanaugh.
Who would want the stupid stuff they did as a teenager, in high school or even college, or that they wrote in a yearbook held against them today?
I'm not the same person I was 35 to 40 years ago, are you?
And if it's hard for us to imagine having our character assassinated on stories told by old acquaintances, who will be the leaders among the next generation unafraid of the cell phone video and social media posts lying in wait to embarrass them?
Countless friends have acknowledged to me our good fortune in coming of age before this era of electronic self-sabotage.
Whatever happened to Brett Kavanaugh, these allegations that have humiliated him and his family, have undoubtedly drive away potential candidates of who knows what greatness.
