Oklahoma City Public School officials said they were impacted by a 'denial of service' attack on Infinite Campus, which houses the 'parent portal'.

OKCPS officials said the latest attack began September 17, and limits their customers access to certain data centers. Infinite Campus is a U.S. based student information system company provides online parent portal services for the Oklahoma City Public School District.

District Staff said Infinite Campus centers are frequently under attack from a variety of sources but emphasized that this attack is not a data breach and student data was not exposed.

Below is the message OKCPS officials released regarding the situation:

OKCPS Families/Staff: Access to your student’s parent portal may be limited or inaccessible due to the "denial of service" attack on our provider, Infinite Campus. Please note that NO student data was stolen/breached. This attack just causes the service to be very slow or unresponsive. Many districts across the country are impacted & authorities are investigating. We’ll provide updates ASAP. Thanks for your patience!

Several other districts around the country and here in Oklahoma have also been impacted.

OKCPS officials said Homeland Security is involved and Infinite Campus has hired additional security experts to ensure that all data is secure, and locate the culprit.
