More than half of the officers working for the Lindsay Police Department are recovering after being injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi.
According to Lindsay Police Chief Clint Wood, those officers were in Ponca City for CLEET training when they decided to break for lunch. While in traffic, a semi crashed into a vehicle containing two officers. A chain reaction followed - another vehicle was pushed into the back of a car containing four more officers.
One officer in the first vehicle was airlifted from the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital.
The other four officers were all being evaluated Thursday.
Chief Wood says the department has 10 officers and all six officers involved in the crash are expected to be okay.
