A Washington County jury on Wednesday found a Bartlesville woman guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her seven-week-old foster son in December 2017.

According to BartlesvilleRadio.com, the jury recommended 44-year-old Tracy Nelson be sentenced to life in prison for following her three day trial.

According to a police affidavit, officers arrested Nelson after the state Medical Examiner determined the boy died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Nelson’s spouse told police the child was fine when she left the infant with Nelson while running errands.

Tracy Nelson is scheduled to be formally sentenced November 2nd.
