Police arrested a student accused of making threats against a school in Cashion.

A 16-year-old student, who has not been identified, was reportedly making threats in an online chatroom and made verbal threats in a classroom that other students heard, police said.

Police were called to investigate the threats, and investigators think the threat was credible.

The student was suspended from school and was released into his parents' custody.

The Office of Juvenile Affairs prosecutor will file charges against that student immediately, but due to the fact that the crime is a misdemeanor as well as a juvenile, an arrest cannot be made at this time.

Officials said the father of the student is taking responsibility for the student and will "have him under watch at all times."

At this time, there is no further threat. Officers will continue to monitor for any future threats with additional officers at the school for the remainder of the week.
