It’s only been a couple of days since the run off election, and already we are seeing political attack ads

The first one targets Democrat Drew Edmondson.

It’s paid for by the PAC “The foundation for economic prosperity”, the same group that ran ads supporting Mick Cornett against Stitt.

Stitt says he wants nothing to do with the attack ads.

"I have no idea even who is running that. We have not set up a group like that. Have no idea. So we're not running any ads right now."said Stitt.

"I believe him," said Drew Edmondson, the Democratic candidate for governor.

“This a dark money group so we don't know where it’s coming from. We can guess but at one time that same group was attacking Stitt. So I absolutely believe Kevin that this wasn't his ad," Edmondson continued.

Both candidates say they want to run a clean campaign focused on the issues not the mudslinging.

"If we point out differences it's going to be policy differences. It won't be the things that we saw in the first round," Stitt said.

Oklahoma City Community College Political Science professor Dana Glencross says that remains to be seen. "This is the kind of thing and the fight that we are going to see from two major candidates. It's august and we have until November to look forward to this."

Edmondson did release two new ads, but they are ads touting his experience, not slamming Stitt.
