OCSO: Investigation Underway Following Death Of Inmate
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation is underway following the death of an inmate.
According to the report, 41-year-old Jeremy Lee Simmons was found unresponsive in his cell around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, August 29. Staff immediately performed life-saving measures and called for an ambulance. Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene.
Simmons was booked into the jail on Thursday, July 19 for a domestic abuse charge.
Investigators say the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Simmons’ exact cause of death.
