Fifteen years ago, three long-time educators weren't on board with, what they call, the education system's departure from foundational and developmental learning.

So, they came up with Keystone Adventure School and Farm, in Edmond. They call it an innovative approach to learning.

“Basically, what I see is what looks like childhood. And what it's supposed to look like,” said John Duhon, Co-Director and Co-Founder.

Each school day starts with students learning to feed, groom, clean up, and love on the animals at their real working farm.

“When you're looking into a school, what you should be looking for is a place where your child can succeed as an individual and feel great about who they are,” Duhon said.

Keystone does not do standardized testing because they say each child deserves to learn as an individual.

However, they were recently accredited by AdvancEd, which is a non-profit group that certifies schools by how they tend to individuals.

Faculty and staff say their focus is not only the success of the student academically, but also the emotional and social well being of the student.

“This is our number one goal. That they would be lifelong lovers of learning,” Jenny Dunning, Co-Director and Co-Founder said.

They say they have just a few spots left open for enrollment this year. If you have any questions, click here.
