A Tulsa woman said robbers got into her apartment, threw her 11-year-old son to the ground and pistol whipped her brother.

Police said it was one of three violent robberies that happened in east Tulsa within a few hours.

One of the victims said her brother was babysitting her child when two men rushed into her apartment.

"I saw my brother on the kitchen floor and all the couches were turned over. I walked in and my kid was on the floor crying," the victim said.

The woman got home seconds after the robbers left. She said her brother was bleeding after being hit with the gun, and her son was terrified.

"Two guys walked in and had a gun out and said, ‘Everybody get down,’ and they grabbed my kid and threw my kid down," she said.

The men took the boy's Xboxes and BB gun plus her brother's cell phone and ID.

Sergeant Brandon Watkins said the brother and son did the smart thing by not trying to fight back against men with guns.

"Comply. Do everything they ask. Don't fight back, don't be a hero. Stuff can be replaced, your life can't," he said.

The victim said her apartment complex is going to relocate her and her son, but she’s angry about the whole ordeal.

"I work every day, all night long, to have, to provide for my kids and what they have, and they just came and took everything,” she said.

Police said this kind of robbery happens three or four times a week, around 150 times a year in Tulsa; but, police also said robberies overall are down 20 percent from this time last year.
