Police: 15-Year-Old Girl Ran Pot Shop Out Of Her Bedroom With Mom’s Permission
Merced County Deputies arrested two people after seizing large amounts of marijuana and a loaded AK-47 from a home in California last week.
According to the Merced County Sheriff's Office, a marijuana cultivation search warrant led to the arrest of Jose Reyes Martinez, 44 and Norma Angelica Alvarez, 44, Friday, Aug. 17.
Deputies said the weapon and 80 pounds of packaged marijuana were in the master bedroom.
Twelve large marijuana plants were also removed from a greenhouse located in the back yard of the residence.
During the investigation investigators learned that the mother was giving her 15-year-old daughter marijuana to use and sell from her bedroom, authorities said.
A sign found hanging on the 15-year-olds door read, “It’s the law. You must be 15 years of age or older to purchase weed. No coming in!! Knock!”
Deputies found packaged marijuana, edibles and other items that all reportedly belonged to the daughter.
CPS determined that the 15-year-old, as well as another juvenile inside of the home should be placed into custody for their protection.
