Texas Man Extradited To Canadian Co., Accused Of Lewd Acts
EL RENO, Oklahoma - A Texas man was extradited to Canadian County after he was accused of soliciting sex with an underage girl, the sheriff's office said.
Randel Campbell, 60, of Electra, Texas, was booked on two counts of lewd acts with a child on Aug. 15.
In June, Campbell began speaking with an undercover deputy who he thought was a 14-year-old girl from Canadian County. The conversation quickly became sexual even after he was told the person was 14 years old.
Investigators said Campbell sent multiple photographs a penis and said he wanted to take the girl to a mall so they could entice a 13-year-old to join them for a three-way sexual encounter.
Investigators reached out to the Wichita County sheriff's office in Texas when they determined he was in Electra, Texas. The Wichita County sheriff's office said a law enforcement agency in Indiana was also investigating him.
An arrest warrant was issued after Campbell video called the undercover deputy.
Electra police interviewed Campbell who admitted to soliciting sex with a underage girl in Canadian County and grooming a 13-year-old girl in Indiana for sex, the Canadian County sheriff's office said in a news release.
Campbell is in the Canadian County jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
