A Missouri mother is facing charges after the drowning death of her 5-yer-old daughter.

Scharron Renea Dingledine, a 26-year-old, was arrested on one count of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

Authorities said they received a 911 call about a vehicle in the Kansas River. Officers said they rescued Dingledine and another child from the water.

The body of Amiyah Bradley was pulled from the river Saturday morning.

Authorities said they believe the car entered the water from the shoreline and not the bridge above it.

Dingledine's one-year-old son sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized, officials said.

Dingledine is being held in the Douglas County Jail without bond.

Bradley's father, Clinton Bradley, has started a GoFundMe page to raise money for her funeral. As of Tuesday it had raised $2,265 of its $10,000 goal.
