Woman Dies In Rollover Crash On I-40 Near El Reno

One person is dead after a rollover crash on Interstate 40 near El Reno, authorities said.

The crash happened about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday on eastbound I-40 at mile marker 116 near US Highway 270.

Cori L. Jones, 57, of Geary, was driving a pickup when the vehicle drifted off the roadway and the driver over-corrected. 

The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a rest on the driver's side of the vehicle. Jones was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Jones died at the scene. 

A passenger in the pickup was taken to OU Medical Center. She is expected to survive.

The interstate was narrowed down to one lane and motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible.

Both people in the pickup were wearing seat belts.
